This filling and satisfying vegan blueberry protein shake packs 15 grams of protein and is perfect post-workout.

The main source of protein comes from hemp seeds, a complete plant-based protein that’s easy to digest and contains anti-inflammatory omega-3s, which are much needed after a workout. It’s also a good source of iron.

Additional protein comes from the almond butter and chia seeds. Blueberries and banana add fiber and antioxidants, while coconut oil adds a little extra healthy fat. This smoothie will help repair your muscles after a workout and keep you fueled for hours.

Blueberry Protein Shake


  • ½ cup water
  • 3 Tbsp. hemp seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. almond butter
  • 1 Tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tsp. unrefined coconut oil or coconut butter
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp. almond extract (optional)
  • Toppings (Optional):
  • Shredded coconut
  • Fresh blueberries


Add all ingredients to a high speed blender, and blend on high until smooth consistency is formed. Top with coconut and blueberries if desired.
